So, I finally picked up Reckless by Lex Martin, and let me just say… this book is like the perfect blend of swoony romance, family feels, and a little bit of ranch dust. If you love small-town vibes with a single-dad twist, you’re probably going to fall headfirst into this one.
Tori Duran needs a fresh start. Her love life? A disaster. Her choices? Questionable at best. She ends up crashing with her pregnant sister and, as fate would have it, takes a live-in nanny gig at the neighbor’s ranch. Sounds simple, right?
Except her new boss is Ethan Carter —tattooed, rugged, ridiculously hot… oh, and a single dad. You can see where this is going.
Tori swears she won’t fall for him, but between wrangling kids, feeding animals, and the late-night glances they keep stealing, sparks fly. And not the slow kind—like, the kind that make you stop mid-page and whisper, oh, they’re in trouble.
I enjoyed this book alot, it had angst and sweet romantic parts. I loved how Tori interacted with the kids and the banter between Tori and Ethan was awesome.
Should You Read It?
If you’re into:
Small-town romance that feels cozy but sexy
Single-dad stories where the kids aren’t just background characters
That whole “oops, I fell for my boss” tension
…then yes, absolutely. Grab this book, pour yourself a glass of wine (or sweet tea, keep it Texan), and get ready to swoon.
But if you’re looking for something super complex or totally out-of-the-box, this might feel a little safe.
